The goal of the Strategic Science Communication Goal Setting Project is to improve the quality of science communication.

We hope to do this by learning more about how scientists think about science communication and use that understanding to explore how people involved in science communication training might help such scientists become better communicators.

The research component of the project contains three main parts:

  1. Qualitative interviews with science communication trainers, as well as other people involved in helping scientists communicate more effectively, and
  2. Surveys of scientists through a range of partners, including scientific societies

See our research page for information on the status of our various sub-projects.

We are also involved in helping to develop training at our home institutions (see here, for example) and a range of other activities.
